The main aim of study: The main educational objective is to acquaint students with the basic economic categories, provide knowledge within the scope of the market mechanism functioning, especially market goods and services as well as production factors. Additionally, the student is to be familiarized with basic principles, theories and indicators in the macroeconomic system and the functioning of the economy within the short, medium and long-term periods, ways of preventing unemployment and inflation, the processes of economic growth as well as the economic cycles in contemporary economy.
The general information about the module: During the Economics course the student is to be familiarized with the basic terms in economics, types of economic systems, subjects, elements, the functioning of markets of goods and services, production factors, market structures and ways of measuring the scope of economic activity, fiscal and monetary politics as well as the phenomena of inflation, unemployment and economic development.

The final grade | Final grade for activities and lectures will have an assigned weight of 0,5. Weights will be multiplied by final grades and summed up. If the sum falls between 5-4,6 student will receive grade 5,0; subsequently 4,59-4,2 - 4,5; 4,19-3,6 - 4,0; 3,59-3,2 - 3,5; 3,19-3 - 3,0. Additionally, positive mark as a credit for both forms of the course is a condition to receive the final grade. In case of a negative mark students receive a credit for the course by taking up an oral form of test. |
