The aim of studying and bibliography

The main aim of study: The purpose of this course is to teach the principles of design processes and systems, and the use of simulation program Aspen Plus. Topics include an introduction to design methods of typical unit operations and integrated technology systems, rules for drawing up the energy and mass balances, an introduction to simulation calculations of technological processes.

The general information about the module: Student receives basic information of design and simulation of single processes and complete process systems in the pharmaceutical industry. Topics implemented in the lecture: 1) Introduction to methods of designing integrated systems technology. 2) The criteria for evaluation of the project - "pure" chemical technology. 3) Design Heuristics 4) An introduction to computing simulation processes (flow of information, analysis of degrees of freedom, the classification of simulation methods). 5) Characteristics of simulation programs.
